ARTIST STATEMENT

From its inception, this immersive film project was inspired by the educational experience I had in 2017 at the SXSW festival in Austin, TX. I attended over 30 hours of interactive panels, seminars and workshops. It was a glimpse into the future that few people saw coming. At the time, there wasn’t a clear way to simplify the understanding of these complex technologies like blockchain and NFTs. I felt this desire to inspire people of all backgrounds to learn about the power of this emerging tech. To make these concepts accessible, with my background in filmmaking, I started to imagine a storyline. By the end of the conference we were shooting the first scenes of the film.

This is just the beginning of an educational platform that I’d like to build out with gamification, workshops and guest speakers. Proceeds generated from NFT sales will be reinvested into digital literacy education for an increasingly wider audience. As we continue to parter with foundations working to defend digital liberties, a major focus of this project is creating more opportunities for women and minorities in the tech industries.
